A brief presentation of Mr. Liviu MIRAUTA, Australia, and his pigeon sport activity
Mr. Liviu Mirauta was born in Gataia, Timis county, Romania, and he is without a doubt the best pigeon fancier in Melbourne. He settled down in Australia back in 1987 and started to race pigeons in 1997. By the end of the year 2002, he won 32 x 1st prize on the Club (out of 60 fanciers), 5 x 1st prize on the Federation (out of 400 fanciers). Please note that only the first 30 birds clock into prizes. He also won 1st National from 710 km out of 2020 birds, where the fancier is allowed to enter only 10 birds. In 2010, Mr. Mirauta won 6 x 1st on the Club.
The origins of the pigeons he owns are the following: Gaby Vandenabele, Goodgrier (Cattrysse) for long-distance races, and Buscharts (Janssen). It has to be mentioned that the races cover a distance between 180 and 1000 km. There are 15 races and one of the liberation sites is in Tasmania Isle. The pigeons have to fly back home nearly 400 km over the ocean when liberated from Tasmania!!! All the other races take place inside the Australian territory.
From 2002 until 2010, Mr. Mirauta had to stop keeping pigeons due to a tough backbone surgery, which led to his early retirement.
<Romanian Racing Pigeons> would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Mirauta for his great passion and his excellent results, and also to wish him all the best!
